Borlotti Bean

Phaseolus vulgaris

Story: a delightful cream coloured bean with red markings, the borlotti is a late summer favourite. This variety produced exceptionally well. 

When to sow: plant out pot-raised beans in late May and early June or sow directly from mid-May until July.

Requirements: well draining soil, can be grown in pots. 

Harvesting: beans are ready to pick from late summer.
