Chenopodium Giganteum (magenta spreen)

Story: This wild spinach-like plant grows huge! Up to 3 meters in height when allowed to flower. It provides plenty of fresh greens for salads and cooked green dishes from late spring to autumn. This variety has beautiful pink/magenta top leaves. The seeds are also edible.

Sow: March – June

Requirements: full sun, moist soil. 

Harvesting: Late spring to autumn. Both the leaves and flower buds before blossoming can be eaten.
