Banana - Sweet Pepper

Capsicum annuum

This beautiful long sweet pepper seed was given to us by Maggie from The Incredible Seed Library and we grew it out for the first time in 2023. We expected long, yellow fruits but got mostly long red fruits so there may have been some cross pollination. We would love it if a few members could grow this variety out separate from other pepper varieties and save seed from just the yellow fruits to see if we can selectively breed back the yellow colour over the next few seasons.

Sow: from mid-February to early April indoors in pots or seed trays of seed compost.

Requirements: well draining soil, and full sun.

Harvesting: late summer/early autumn.
